Colleen has been a home health aide for over 2 years. Her love of her profession started when she would volunteer working at a nursing home and shelter. She realized how much she enjoyed helping others feel better and gained a great deal of experience through the one on one relationships she developed.

Her favorite client was a Greek woman who she does homemaking for including, cooking, washing, and laundry. At lunch the Greek woman would insist that she made Colleen lunch and they sit and enjoy each others company. Colleen recollects all the delicious recipes that the woman would teach her including stuffed grape leaves, and orzo soup. They are still friends to this day. Colleen will tell you, "She has become a like a mother to me since my mother passed away when I was young." People always ask her,"When are you coming back?"

Colleen has learned from her caregiving experience with geriatrics, and has a soft spot for individuals who feel isolated and alone. Her ability to befriend and offer comfort and support has lead a positive role in her clients' homes. Her best qualities include her sense of humor, her ability to relate to clients personally, genuine, good listener, and her ability to make each client feel special.
