Vicki has been a registered nurse for 32 years. Her dream of becoming a nurse started at young age. Her mother was a nurse in WWII, and gave her a toy nurse's bag at Christmas, thus beginning her love of helping people. Her favorite client was a young woman who had Multiple Sclerosis at the age of thirty three. She remembers the friendship that developed from caring for her. Some of her fondest memories include being a camp nurse for over five hundred campers where she was the only nurse. Many times the counselors needed more care than the campers. There would be days where the campers lined up in the infirmary. She also has several advanced trainings that have assisted her over the years such as, IV certification, rehabilitation in long term care and Red Cross Nursing. Some of her best qualities include, always hoping for the best outcome for the client and positive attitude. Vicki says,"I always do the best I can to improve the quality of life of my clients and knowing that I contribute to that makes me feel rewarded." Vicki's words of advice to a loved one that may need care would be, "I have an aunt who is 98 years old and she calls because she is lonely. I make sure to listen to her because it makes her feel good knowing someone cares. It's important to stop and listen."
